Hive Pullover Sewalong: The Meat
The Hive Pullover Sewalong is back! Today we're sewing the meat of the sweatshirt. This post will apply to both views of this design.
If you haven't yet, pin the shoulder seams and sew with 3/8" seam allowance and a stretch stitch. Press these seams towards the back bodice.
Align the sleeves with the armscyes, right sides together, matching the center notch with the shoulder seam. Evenly distribute the sleeve around the armscye matching the front and back notches. Pin well.
Sew with a 3/8" seam allowance and press these seams towards bodice.
Align the side and sleeve seams with right sides together, matching notches and underarm seams. Sew with a 3/8" seam allowance and press seam towards the back bodice.
Align the short ends of the cuffs right sides together. Sew with a 3/8" seam allowance and press the seams to one side. Repeat for the waistband.
Fold the cuffs and waistband in half so that the long raw edges are aligned with wrong sides together. Press. Repeat for the waistband.
Slip the cuffs over the bottom of the sleeves, aligning the seams and stretching them to fit around the wrist circumference. Pin well and sew with a 3/8” seam allowance. Repeat for the waistband, matching the notches.
Pull the cuffs and waistband right side out and press the seams up. If you're sewing View A, you're finished! This is what your completed Hive Pullover should look like:
